    During walking, antennal movements of the stick insect Carausius morosus are often co-ordinated with the stepping movements of the legs. Light gray arrows indicate a back-to-front wave that describes the coordination pattern of left limbs (top) and right limbs (bottom). Side view (top) and top view (bottom) of left (broken lines) and right (solid lines) limbs. Bold gray lines connect coincident points. Note how these lines always curve in the same direction.
