Illustration of pure numeric dispersion effect on a single sinusoid, as it propagates along the spatial domain (Lagrangian view point). Both exact and simulated dispersive waves start in phase; however, the phase of the dispersive wave leads the exact wave over time, but its amplitude is unaffected. Created in Matlab.
