Prof. Daniel Scheeres accepted the invitation on 18 February 2010 (self-imposed deadline: 18 August 2010).

The Full Kepler (2-body) problem refers to the dynamical motion of two rigid mass distributions attracting each other according to Newtonian gravity. In the general case the translational and rotational motion of these bodies are strongly coupled together and yields a non-integrable dynamical system. In the simplest case, if the two bodies have spherical mass distributions the rotational dynamics decouple from the translational motion and we recover the classic Kepler (2-body) problem.
