Stochastic mechanics and quantum mechanics refers to a stochastic model for quantum phenomena developed by Nelson, with significant contributions by Guerra, Morato and others in which the wave function is not the complete description of the physical state of the system, which is instead given by the state of a diffusion process, and the diffusion process itself is determined by a natural dynamical law.
