    Erzsébet Csuhaj-Varjú

    Erzsébet Csuhaj-Varjú (b. August 15, 1954) is heads the Theoretical Computer Science Research Group at the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and a full professor of computer science at Loránd Eötvös University, Budapest. She received her candidatus scientiarum (Ph.D. equivalent) (1993) from the Hungarian Scientific Qualification Committee, Budapest, and her M.Sc. (1977) from the Lajos Kossuth University of Sciences, Debrecen, both in mathematics.

    She has been nationally and internationally involved in various activities: reviewer, member, editor for journals and conferences, member and project leader of research projects, all involving topics of her research interests: formal languages, multi-agent systems, bio-computing, and natural language processing. She was distinguished five times with the Award of the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for outstanding and, in year 2000, with the "Best Supervisor" award, by the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
